International scientific cooperation

Irkutsk academic institutions carry out international scientific cooperation in various directions. The first Soviet-Mongolian expedition took place in 1958, initiating joint seismological research between Irkutsk and Mongolian scientists. In the modern period, scientists from Russia and Mongolia continue studying seismic processes and working on transboundary water resources and carboniferous polygons.

Academic institutions in Irkutsk cooperate with colleagues from Europe in various fields – chemistry and biology, mathematics and energy, physics and geology. Institute of Systems Dynamics and Control Theory SB RAS collaborates with universities in Italy, Spain and France in the fields of fundamental and applied mathematics and computer science. The L. A.
